Vedic Tradition - a Spiritual Science

Vedic tradition is a scientific inquiry about the human existence and the mystery ofCosmos:

It is not a religion but a spiritual tradition which means quest of the Spirit or Consciousness. Spirituality is different from Religion. See the difference in the table below.

Religion Science  Vedic Spiritual Tradition

1  Single Founder No known founder, many rational thinkers contribute to the knowledge. No known founder, many rational thinkers contribute to the knowledge. Another characteristic feature is that, may be only in this tradition, both women and men have contributed in the spiritual scriptures, like in Modern Science. Both the word of men and women are considered as divine. Example, there are "30 women (Rishikas)" who have contributed to the verses of Rig veda.
2 Concept of a personal God whose job is  creating universe, controlling everything ,  answering prayers, judging and rewarding their belief giving them heaven or punishing their dis-belief by givign hell to them. No concept of God creating and controlling the Universe.  No concept of Personal God, the Spirit (Consciousness) is only the reality and hence it is called as Spiritual science. It is the Spirit that Manifest as Matter (Energy) and Self creates by Evolution and Self Controlled.  The Words like Gods and Goddesses  in this tradition are only Symbolic images of Cosmic Physical laws and do no refer to a "Personal God"."Ved" means to know or knowledge and hence this spiritual tradition is called as Vedic-Spiritual tradition.  (Detailed explanation given in the next pages).
2 Single Book as source  of knowledge Many books Many books as source of knowledge. THERE  ARE  DIRECT VEDIC AND INDIAN SPIRITUAL LITERATURE  AS SUCH 1280 (One Thousand and two hundred and eighty).  The Four Vedas  are  25 recensions of Rigveda, 100 recensions of yajurveda 1000 recensions of sama veda  and  50 recensions of  atharva veda.  18 brahmanas,  11 aranyakas  108 upanishads, these are the vedas. 18 books each  for of the vedangas : siksha, niruktha vyakarana, chandasastra, kalpasastra and jyothisha- which  are  directly linked with vedic literature.
3 Single contributor Each book is contributed by the work of many scientists.  Many Rishi's (Vedic scientists) contributed to the Vedic Knowledge.  Example, Rig-veda, one of the Chief four Vedas, a single compilation,  is itself composed by more than 210  Rishi's (Ancient Indian Scientists).  None of the Rishi's were known in  the background of caste, because caste is not based by birth but by one's contribution to the society (Reference from Indian Institute of Scientific Heritage).   ).
4 The single book never edited or corrected. Continuously evolving by undergoing  corrections, deletions and modifications Continuously evolving by undergoing  corrections, deletions and modifications
5 No clear cut  classification of various disciplinaries Knowledge is cleary classified into various discplines like Physcial sciences, Chemical sciences, Biological sciences etc There are four Upavedas (up means subsidiary).  Arthved (science of sociology and economics) is related to Rigved; Dhanurved (science of defense and war and the making of its related appliances) is related to Yajurved; Gandharvaved (science of music, both singing and instrumental) is related to Samved; and Ayurved (the medical science) is related to Atharvaved.
6 No freedom to question Questioning is the part of the Science. Inquiry is the chief mode of study or vedas. All Upanishads are all inquiry in the form of questions and answers.
7 No rational thinking allowed Based on experimentation, observation and finally drawing inference. Based on experimentation, observation and finally drawing inference.
8 Based on Emotional belief Based on intellectual thinking Based on intellectual thinking
9 No further evolutionary thinking Evolutionary thinking To evolution is the key aspect.
10 No means of knowing the Truth, other than just believing what is written in the books.  The belief has never stood the test of time.  Any one can Re-Search the findings of the scientist and find self proof with the same tools used by the scientist.  Any one can know the Truth that the Rishi's discovered by applying their techniques like Yoga and Meditation which are wrongly understand as mere health life stlye practices.   These ancient technology has stood the test of time and is eternal till the last days of Human civilization.
